It belongs to NCDs, affecting both children and adults. As per WHO, about 300 million people are affected with this disease, and bringing to death of about 500,000 deaths world-wide. About 15% of Indian population suffers from Asthma. The WHO has included it under its “Global Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of NCDs and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.
